Veeva-consolidation-1050Cranford, NJ – October 20, 2014 – Paragon Solutions, an advisory consulting and systems integration firm, today announced the release of an enterprise content management (ECM) migration adaptor for the migration of regulated content from legacy content sources to content management platform Veeva Vault. The solution is an extension of Paragon’s proven Regulated Content Migration solution set designed to enable every major part of a life sciences company—from regulatory, to clinical, quality, and commercial—to meet the challenges of migrating content in a format that achieves industry and regulatory standards and enables content within the Vault application.

“Paragon is committed to investing in its partnership with Veeva,” said Douglas J. Vargo, vice president of information management for Paragon. “With the increase in demand for Vault implementations, customers are looking for ways to streamline migration from legacy, on-premise systems to Veeva Vault applications. Through our certification of our consultants on the Veeva Vault platform, the release of this adaptor and application of our best practices methodologies, Paragon can assist life sciences organizations in successfully migrating content from many different legacy platforms into Veeva Vault to enable documents within Vault.”

“Paragon has supported a number of Vault implementations and we are excited to see them apply that knowledge to a migration connector,” said Jennifer Goldsmith, vice president, Veeva Vault.

The life sciences industry faces complex content management challenges as organizations struggle to achieve streamlined functionality while enabling collaboration and ensuring compliance. Functional areas such as research and development, clinical trials, quality, manufacturing, and sales/marketing are often required to share regulated content for business operations as well as to ensure compliance with FDA 21 CFR Part 11 and adherence to the guidelines of EU Annex 11. To facilitate access to information by diverse business units, organizations often consolidate multiple regulated platforms into one centralized platform. Creating an environment where complex information architectures are harmonized into one requires a thorough understanding of the nuances and intricacies of regulated content. The resulting integrated systems environment needs to provide comprehensive ECM capabilities including lifecycle management, audit trails, electronic signatures, and controls so that information can be accessed as appropriate.

Paragon’s adaptor, which is based on fme AG’s migration-center toolset, provides an easy-to-use interface for building migration mappings and establishing data transformation rules to enable a repeatable, compliant process. The migration framework uses Veeva Vault APIs and provides compliance with the Vault platform, retaining complete control over established compliance attributes including document versioning, renditions, watermarks, audit trail signatures and status.

Combined with its migration adaptor, Paragon’s Migration Center of Excellence methodology and toolset defines an overall approach for the migration of regulated and non-regulated documents, metadata and compliance elements.  The collection of best practices, templates and processes included in the methodology serve as a guide to conduct planning, deliverables, resource allocation, and overall management for migration projects to ensure that migrations are conducted with very high quality, minimal risk, and the least possible impact to the business.
