Paragon Receives Two Best Solution Awards at EMC World 2011 Conference

Cranford, NJ - May 16, 2011 - Paragon Solutions, a business and information technology consulting firm, announced today that it was the recipient of two “Best Solution 2010” awards presented by the EMC Information Intelligence Group (IIG) at the 2011 EMC World Conference. The annual conference was held at The Venetian in Las Vegas from May 9 – 12, 2011.

A preferred EMC Partner and recipient of EMC IIG’s Partner of the Year Award at the 2010 Conference, Paragon received the two Best Solution awards at this year’s event for its Legal Contracts Management Solution for healthcare, as well as its Digital Mailroom/Intelligent Capture Solution for Claims.

Legal Contracts Management for Healthcare

Paragon built its Legal Contracts Management Solution for a 2010 engagement for a premier hospital system client. The solution, which goes live in June 2011, will help the healthcare system address current-state pain points for contracts stored in the Legal Department, and will provide a flexible system framework and process foundation that the client can leverage for documents stored in other departments. Other objectives the solution will enable the client to achieve include: establishing a central repository on a single technology for Legal Contracts Management that will be in-sync with the organization’s electronic centralized content management system; creation of a standardized single data model of all contracts that will support indexing metadata capture to offer flexible and scalable information governance across all contract types as well as improved search, audit and compliance; improved compliance to corporate policy and mitigated risk by ensuring secure, reportable access to sensitive documents; and improved search and access by exposing search through a simple web-based interface.

Paragon’s solution is built on several components of the EMC Documentum product suite, including Documentum xCP. Paragon has also developed several reusable assets as a result of the engagement, which include a metadata model, taxonomy, reports and workflow.

Digital Mailroom/Intelligent Content Capture for Claims

The Digital Mailroom/Intelligent Content Capture Solution is the front-end component of a comprehensive, straight-through processing claims solution for to insurance claim departments with paper-intensive processes. Built on the EMC product stack, Paragon developed the capture component with a number of its own assets for the claims solution and offered it to insurance mailroom operations with a history of paper-dependent latencies and inefficiencies.

Originally titled Digital Mailroom for claims but now referred to as the Intelligent Content Capture Solution for Claims, the offer leverages the EMC Captiva product suite (Dispatcher, InputAccel and ClaimPack) to create a rules-based, automated processing capability enabling firms to digitally capture, classify, index and electronically distribute physical and electronic documents across the enterprise through a single processing clearinghouse. Paragon’s solution eliminates manual sorting, preparation and delivery so firms can process business documents faster – enabling some firms to save millions annually in operational costs.

Paragon has completed nearly a half dozen implementations of the solution, and, as a result, has amassed a deep set of assets that include: standardized templates to automate form/data capture; hundreds of pre-defined templates for classifying state forms, medical bills/reports; a business case analysis tool for cost justification; a blueprint to speed process design; and pre-defined industry best practices for taxonomy and document categorization.
