CRANFORD, NJ — April 4, 2011 – Paragon Solutions, a business consulting and information technology services firm, will lead a pre-conference workshop at the International Quality and Productivity Center (IQPC) 11th eDiscovery Summit. The event, which will feature pre-conference instruction and sessions to provide organizations with strategies to manage the costs and risks associated with eDiscovery, is scheduled for April 27 – 29, 2011 at The Hyatt Regency San Francisco, CA.

Scott McVeigh, associate director of information governance and compliance for Paragon, will lead the pre-conference workshop, "Containing Costs and Minimizing Risk through Data Mapping and Sound Records Retention Policies." The workshop will focus on how to develop effective data governance policies to manage the electronic discovery practice within life sciences organizations. The two-hour session will also explore strategies to gain buy-in from upper management for an effective data management program, as well as how to mitigate risks and information leaks associated with document retention.

"This workshop will help participants ensure that their organizations are in compliance with records management requirements by using data mapping and record retention policies to manage costs and minimize risk,” said McVeigh. “Effective data mapping will provide companies with an in-depth catalog of data sources, locations, formation and use of business' records along with corresponding written and unwritten retention policies and practices,” he added.

Various effective data mapping techniques that can be applied as a tool to accelerate the e-Discovery process and educate in-house and outside counsel regarding the use of data mapping for early assessment will also be presented.

Paragon’s session will take place on Wednesday, April 27 from 3:30pm 5:30pm.
