CRANFORD, NJ — February 9, 2011 – Paragon Solutions, a business consulting and information technology services firm, announced that Senior Business Analyst Elaine Lowell will present a model for structured protocol authoring for clinical trials at the 2011 Annual DIA Electronic Document Management Conference. The conference will be held on February 15 – 17, 2011 at The Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center, National Harbor, MD.
Lowell will present as part of the conference track, “Leveraging Standards and Technology to Streamline Content Authoring and Reuse,” led by session chairperson Laura Sherman, managing partner, Distributed Compliance Solutions, Inc. The session will explore drivers for applying information standards, technology advances and business processes to gain efficiencies throughout the drug development continuum.
The presentation, “Building a Model for Structured Authoring of the Clinical Protocol,” will help attendees understand the concept of structured authoring of the clinical protocol within the writing and review processes. A case study will be presented on developing a model for structured authoring of the clinical protocol to create a systematic, standardized approach for rapid protocol development. The model, which was developed by Paragon Solutions, can be used across the Life Sciences industry.
According to Lowell, “The presentation will help participants prepare for the future of authoring of their clinical protocol by presenting a structured authoring model for a clinical protocol template. Structured authoring allows organizations to increase productivity and cut study costs by decreasing the amount of time needed to author, format and review protocols and enabling re-use of protocol components.”
“Building a Model for Structured Authoring of the Clinical Protocol” is scheduled for Tuesday, February 15 from 1:30 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.
Paragon will also be showcasing its solutions utilizing Microsoft Office and Microsoft SharePoint for Structured Authoring, Clinical Investigator Portals and Electronic Trial Master Files at the conference at booth #103.
