What’s on the 2014 Agenda?

The Government Programs Summit 2014 includes a full day of preconference symposia on Wednesday, March 26, and two days of main conference events on Thursday, March 27 and Friday, March 28. Many attendees are also expected to stay for the weekend following the event to explore Alexandria. The agenda on Thursday begins with the Chairperson’s Welcome and Opening Remarks with Mike Borgia of Johnson & Johnson, and the Keynote Presentation by Jonathan Karl, entitled “Inside Washington and Healthcare Reform.” Numerous presentations and panel discussions will be held throughout the day, on topics such as Medicaid’s impact on state economic growth and budgets, the rollout of the Affordable Care Act, changes to the Medicaid Drug Rebate Program, the divide between fee-for-service and managed Medicaid, compliance with government programs, AMP and the impact of territory inclusion in calculations, specialty pharmacy providers and more. Thursday’s agenda also includes three networking and exhibition breaks, panel participation by Director of Johnson & Johnson Ken Nelson and a cocktail reception.

On Friday, March 28, the agenda includes discussions and presentations on the 340B program, government program pricing, contracting strategy, the role of Apexus, implementation policies, audits and program integrity, strengthening the collaborative process between manufacturers and states, Medicaid billing and duplicate discount policies, coverage gap issues and more. Friday’s agenda will also include a morning networking and exhibition break and a lunch reception, with the conference concluding at 3 p.m.
